God Is Not Detached From Us ... God Loves Us and Wants To Be "In Love" With Us
The only think that need be certain about your relationship to God is the search and focus on God. The rest is incidental and will come in time.
If God is the center of your thoughts, then other things order themselves appropriately. If our thought as of violence, violence comes to us. If our thoughts are of paranoia, paranoia comes to and conditions which cause more paranoia. However, when our thoughts are inward toward God, God is more and more evident in our lives. Good things present themselves, and when the bad things do come, we are able to detach from the suffering they bring with thoughts at the center on God.
God never has to come when you call. God is in all places, at all times. within and without all things. There is no need to ask God into your life. God is there. There is no need to ask God's forgiveness. God has forgiven. There is no need to as for God's love. God loves you. What we need to do, and it is a simple as this is - "Love God."
God loves you, regardless of what you do or whether you doubt God's existence or even hate God. God loves Charles Manson. My guess is God is extremely disappointed in his behavior in this life he was given, but God loves him just as he loves you and me and all the people that Manson had killed. It is an unqualified, unconditional love that only God is fully capable of.
"God is not mad at you." I saw this on a bumper sticker recently. It says alot in that it contradicts the concept of God's wrath. It makes no sense that God would be involved in the making of a universe set up in all-knowing wisdom with the inevitability that people would be a disappointment and then be something to be mad at. Would that not be creating a sure path to being mad at the outset. Do we really believe God is that shortsighted or mean. No, we are all headed to the same conclusions or series of intermediate conclusions. One of those is death, others arise in in our journey to ever better levels of consciousness until we come to the point of "I am" or pure consciousness. Then we exist as "that", free of what we currently consider physical existence. The only real choice we make in the matter is the time it takes to arrive at "I am." God exists free of any other requirements and waits for you to arrive, at which point the only thing God will show you is love. You will one day be absorbed by that Love and saturated with it.
God is all things including cognition, God thinks and plans and acts.
When you look into a large deep running river you may not can tell there is even a current at all. The deeper and the wider, the more this phenomenon is at play. But, when you step foot into the river, you can see the evidence of the current as you begin to float down stream much faster than you'd have dreamed possible. Such is the stream of the consciousness of God. You may be looking for God through prayer and meditation and think you are far from God when all the sudden you are swept away in that consciousness.
Also, if you are canoeing down a creek you may alternately catch the faster currents and zoom down the creek with exhiliration, and then all the sudden find youself in a turn of the creek where the water is sitting still. With a little effort, steering back to where experience has told us the current is, we begin to move again. This too is like our relationship to God. We feel taken away by God and then disjoint from God. But, with more experience, we can find our way more and more quickly back to God's current, and eventually be able to stay there with more ease. The goal being to live in that current.
When we come face to face with God, it will be a wonderful day of full consciousness, but to know God it is not necessary to arrive at this stage even though we are somewhat spiritually blind. A blind man walking into a river knows when he is in it. Likewise, we know when we are experiencing God.
I think we can picture God as an stream of energy that can not be sensed except when we are in it. I occasionally find myself flowing along in that stream where my level of God consciousness is strong and pure and then at times I've let my lack of focus take me out of the stream and I can't find it for a while. It feels like learning to ride a bike. You try and try to ride and then all of sudden it happens and you are riding and you get better at it. You can get better at finding God and staying in that stream, but sometimes it is hard staying there for the ride. Get back up and you'll find the stream again.
God wants us to be inclusionary in our dealings with one another. God does not want us to exclude or be divisionist in our dealing with those of other beliefs from our own.
God wants us to live in peace and love. Spread both today.
You may be like me. You may have felt God around you all of your life and what God's presence taught you doesn't seem to fit with any of the established religious sects or denominations you've studied. My wife used to say that she wasn't smart enough to be a Catholic. The same could be said about Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, or Judaism. One might feel the need to have a permanent consultant to refresh them constantly on the rulebook and procedures of being of a particular faith. There is nothing inherently wrong with any of these religions, it is simply that their complexity in not necessary.
Something tells me that is not the way things are meant to be. I simply do not think God wanted "loving God" to be an intellectually difficult task. I am not saying that Catholics or Hindus or anyone is wrong. I just don't believe the complicated dogma is needed. Some people may think that in order for a religion to be valid, it simply must be detailed and complicated. I do not have that belief. One thing you will notice is that I rarely asign gender to God. I occasionally do because my upbringing in this world causes my brain to default to the male pronoun at times.
But .... Please understand that I feel assigning gender to God is in effect belittling. To assign gender to the most encompassing entity in the universe is severely limiting our view of God. God is the only complicated part of God Consciousness. Loving and knowing God is as easy as falling off a log. In subsequent pages, I will discuss what I believe more specifically, but this site is going to be a place to share more than anything. I am no guru. I do not pretend to know anything that you don't know or can't know at any point you chose to. This is all easy stuff. I am one of you. I am a child of God. If you are looking here for a leader, you are in the wrong place. If you are looking for a place to share your love for God and your Peace gained through God, this will be a good home away from home for you.
